What was the highlight of Camino Real Zaashila Huatulco Hotel
It was a lovely location and I would stay
Staff is exceptional. Location is beautiful. I LOVED not having to fight for a chair at the pool. Lots of towels and chairs always available. Property is well maintained and very clean. WE stayed in a club room with our own private pool. The club rooms are right on the beach wth an unobstructed view of the beach . I highly recommend these rooms.
There aren't as many options for meals as there are in other places I have stayed in Mexico. There is only one restaurant available that is open for breakfast and dinner and one near the pool that offers lunch. There are some other options about a 6-7 minute walk from the hotel, however most are not open on Sundays, some are not open on Mondays. I found the restaurants extremely pricey at the hotel and relative to to other places n Mexico, the restaurants nearby were also expensive, particularly for the quality of the food. The best meal is breakfast. Try La Poblanita. They also sell tortas (sandwiches) for lunch that are very reasonable and delicious. Also Cafe Juanita is another good breakfast option. Do not go there for dinner. It was very disappointing. Another option is to take a taxi to La Crucecita, a small town about 15 minutes from the hotel. There are lots of options for restaurants and shopping three. The prices there are more in line with what you would expect at places like Porto Vallarta ad Mazatlan. Also, the hotel is on a hill and it is quite a steep walk up to the hotel from the street and it is not a good option for the eldery or those who have mobility issues.

What was the highlight of Camino Real Zaashila Huatulco Hotel
Perfect for a one week stay in November.
The entire facility was excellent. The room was a good size with a large bathroom and the plumbing work efficiently. The balcony is an excellent location to grab a snack or just sit and relax. The balcony pool was a real bonus and we used it to cool off after a day on the beach or to start the day. You had to pick your time for a swim at the beach when the water was calm, which wasn't very often. Otherwise, sitting under a Palapa reading and enjoying a cool drink, was easy to take. We liked the fact that the beach was semi private with only the occasional vendor able to get over the rocks that isolated the beach at high tide. The main swimming, pool, although quite shallow was always groomed to be clean and comforting. There was always adequate shade at the beach and around the pool. The staff were excellent.
Visitors with mobility issues will have problems with all of the stairs. The resort is built on a slope, and so to get from one area to another always requires climbing stairs. Having said that, the facility is well constructed, and the stairs are uniform, and even. Construction noise and dust at one end of the property was a minor inconvenience. The only other problem, and it was minor, is that the chairs in the room and on the porch were not very comfortable.

Pleasant stay, welcoming staff
Nice hotel, beautiful beach and welcoming staff. The room I stayed in was a little dated, but it was nonetheless comfortable and very clean.
The food was somewhat expensive. It would be nice to have some more affordable options on the menu particularly for someone planning a longer stay at the hotel.
